JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently accepting applications for Pipefitter/Steamfitter Journeyperson (Adhoc) Offshore personnel, with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and will be a casual call-out role. The successful candidate will be willing and eligible to travel Offshore via helicopter or supply vessel. As a Pipefitter/Steamfitter Journeyperson, you will be responsible for lay out, fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. In this role you will also be using power tools, rigging equipment, and hand tools. You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Understand and utilize proper hand signals and terminology, adhering to lift plansSelect type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specificationsInspect worksite to determine presence of obstructionsCoordinate sequences of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workersCut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel and pipe cutting machineThread pipe using threading machineMount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipeAssemble and install a variety of metal or non-metal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked and hand toolsSecure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power toolsUse pneumatic and/or hydraulic testing equipment to check systems for leaksPerform other duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONSSuccessful completion of 4 Period Apprenticeship (minimum of 1,560hrs per period, directly related to the trade), followed by Journeyperson Certification OR a valid Journeyperson Certificate issued by another Canadian province or Territory with Interprovincial Red Seal Certification All journeypersons must demonstrate competence in their tradeThe following Offshore Certificates and Training is required and would be considered an asset:Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBARigging, Slinging, and BanksmanHydrogen Sulphide (H2S) AliveWorkplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)Offshore Safety Regulatory AwarenessFall ProtectionConfined Space EntryStandard First AidWhen submitting your application to Wood please upload all your relevant Certifications.Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is requiredPhysical RequirementsMust pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test and CAPP Medical as required by the customerMust be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbsMust possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified aboveAble to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol May be required consistently to work 12-hour shifts performing physical labour in varying temperature extremes and conditions. May be required to work overtime on occasionMust be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required.
