Run what runs the worldThis Position reports to:Service Operations ManagerThe Field Service Technician will provide technical and business leadership to support customer's power delivery needs. The person will have a high level of technical and mechanical expertise, be capable of planning, leading and executing power delivery work with the highest level of safety & environmental compliance, understand business profitability, and develop great customer relationshipThis role reports to the: Service Manager The work model for the role is: Remote / Job Onsite Service This role is contributing to Electrification Service division .You will be mainly accountable for:Perform hands-on testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, and installation of high, medium, and low voltage power systems, including switchgear and transformers.Utilize technical and mechanical expertise in relay protection, control systems, and power equipment diagnostics.Lead and coordinate service projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution with high-quality standards.Develop service scopes, assist in proposal preparation, and contribute to accurate job estimates.Provide leadership and direction to teams, maximizing productivity, utilization, and profitability.Engage with customers to identify service opportunities, offer technical recommendations, and support business development in collaboration with the sales team.Drive continuous improvement through cost and process optimization aligned with company strategies and market dynamics.Qualifications for the role 5+ years proven track record servicing some of the above equipmentFamiliarity with environmental protection procedures and basic electrical safety practicesMake a work site and site activities safe for self and all other members of the site teamStrong mechanical aptitude and hands-on capabilityAbility to understand documented instructions, procedures and electrical drawings, and develop the sameFamiliar with test equipment and testing procedures for power deliveryAbility to travel locally and nationally 50% of the time, work overtime/weekends and respond to weekend and off-hours service requests as requiredEngineer or Certified Electrical Technologist with 309A Journeyman Electrician certification, with proven experience.Ability to work independently and lead a project / work scope / team with a minimum of supervisionExceptional communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, and ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and team membersEntrepreneurial, customer focused with ability to generate work and develop strong customer relationsApply practical application experience and knowledge of electrical power systems to develop and recommend solutions for customers' power system issues and upgradesWhy ABB?
