We are looking for a results-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely month-end closes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts to evolving business needs, and effectively leads a small accounting team through growth and change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance, support, and performance management.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory subledger, inventory costing, physical inventory counts, and control procedures.
  • Oversee reporting and control procedures for internal service and contractor revenue/expenses.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and financial reporting accuracy.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in compliance with local GAAP or IFRS.
  • Support year-end audit and tax schedule preparation.
  • Analyze actual results and explain variances to prior year and plan.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports and forecasts aligned with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and accounting standards.
  • Process biweekly payroll for hourly union, nonunion, and salaried employees.
  • Reconcile biweekly payroll and manage monthly reporting requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and test internal controls.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to maintain proper accounting and internal controls company-wide.
  • Act as a business partner to operations, responding to requests and supporting initiatives.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, sales, HR) to resolve accounting-related queries.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting workflows.
  • Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic business environment.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation (or near completion) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (local GAAP or IFRS).
  • Proven ability to manage tight month-end close timelines in multi-entity or project-based environments.
  • Experience with payroll software (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (JDE and OneStream preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and lead teams through transitions.
  • Experience in construction, building maintenance, or service industries is a strong asset.

Compensation- Base Salary: Target $100K–$120K+, depending on CPA status and experience.
