Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director, Residential Property Management, to lead our residential property management team. This role focuses on providing strategic direction, overseeing operations, and ensuring financial success across our residential portfolio. Collaborating closely with the Asset Management, Leasing, and Accounting teams, the successful candidate will assist in enhancing tenant satisfaction, optimizing financial performance, and upholding regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Property Management & Operations
- Oversee the property maintenance and tenant relations of our residential properties.
- Lead and mentor a team of property managers and operations staff.
- Develop and implement standardized tenant handover criteria.
- Streamline departmental processes to enhance efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive property management reports.
- Collaborate with Property Managers to maximize revenue, optimize rent collection, and manage costs.
- Maintain regular oversight of receivables and collections through structured meetings.
Team Leadership & Development
- Foster transparent communication within the team and across departments.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration between property management, leasing, and operations teams.
- Conduct weekly one-on-one mentorship meetings with direct reports.
- Build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and innovation.
- Work with senior leadership on long-term growth strategies, acquisitions, and development.
Tenant Relations & Customer Experience
- Identify and implement improvements that enhance tenant satisfaction and cost efficiency.
- Develop strong tenant relationships, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly.
- Collaborate with Marketing to create and update tenant information packages.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Continuously assess vendor performance and address concerns as they arise.
- Work closely with the Operations team to resolve vendor-related challenges.
- Post-secondary education in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in property management, including leadership and financial oversight.
- Strong expertise in residential property management, leasing practices, and maintenance protocols.
- Proven ability to manage financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills to motivate diverse teams.
- Proficiency with Yardi Voyager is an asset.
