Rock Iron Contracting is seeking a competent, full time Heavy Duty Mechanic to complete repairs, on site servicing and preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of equipment. Experience with John Deere, Case, Sany and Paving equipment will be considered an asset.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Completing all repairs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform equipment services and preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of equipment
  • Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies. Diagnose faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Communicate with management to coordinate maintenance priorities
  • Maintain maintenance records to COR standards
  • Complete on site repairs
  • Ensure shop is kept clean and organized

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment, Hydraulic and electrical systems as well as diesel engines
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
  • Capable of performing physically demanding duties including heavy lifting, working underneath trucks, working in cramped positions, and climbing on/off units.
