As the Enterprise Risk Management Specialist, you will support Moneris' Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program which encompasses various 2nd Line of Defence areas, including Enterprise Risks assessment and reporting, Operational Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management, and Business Continuity Management (BCM) & Crisis Management. The ERM team supports the Legal & Risk business unit's objectives, and works very closely with Legal Counsel, Privacy, Regulatory Compliance, and Internal Audit functions. You will have experience working in an Enterprise Risk Management function, knowledge of key regulations related to operational risk, privacy, AML, and retail payments, as well as some knowledge of institutional processes typical to acquirers and the payments industry.

As we continually improve our organizational ERM processes, this role will also work closely with Senior Specialists, the BCM Team, and Legal & Audit Teams in identifying, testing, and implementing process and system enhancements via our existing BCM and GRC tooling. You will also play a key part supporting our operational risk reporting obligations related to recent retail payments regulations (RPAA).

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director, Enterprise Risk Management.

Salary Range: The expected base salary range for this role is $80,929 - $104,731.

Total compensation may also include variable or discretionary incentive components, including but not limited to bonuses and commissions. Individual job offers are determined by various factors, including experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

  • Support Enterprise Risk operations related to the business continuity program, operational risk management and reporting, third party risk management and oversight, and enterprise risk management and related risk governance activities.

  • Working with the Sr. Specialists, prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual risk reports, including reports related to key enterprise risks, Risk Indicators (KRIs), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), operational risk events or incidents, or 3rd parties and related services.

  • Gathering, reviewing and analyzing risk information from business teams in order to conduct Risk and Controls Self-Assessment (RCSA) workshops with business teams to identify risks and controls, and establish business unit level risk registers.

  • Lead or support continual improvement and change initiatives related to Legal & Risk processes or systems.

  • Coordinate with Internal Audit team on risks and controls information.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Commerce, Finance, IT, or a related field of study.

  • Professional accounting designation, risk management certification (CRM), and/or an MBA are strong assets.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered a substitution.

  • 3+ years of experience across risk-related activities such as enterprise risk management, policy and standard development, controls and risk assessments, business continuity and emergency management, third party risk, root cause analyses, project risk management, business process analysis, and change management.

  • Familiarity with ISO 31000 and/or the COSO integrated enterprise risk management framework.
