Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Class 1 LCV linehaul driver for a switch run between Yellowknife and Enterprise. Departure time of 5:00 pm daily, Monday to Friday. This is a pin-to-pin position. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Safely operating and maneuvering Long Combination Vehicles (LCVs) on highway routes.
  2. Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  3. Accurately logging driving hours, rest periods, and other relevant information in accordance with federal and territorial regulations.
  4. Maintaining a clean driving record and adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  5. Efficiently loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper securing of freight.
  6. Communicating effectively with dispatch, customers, and other drivers as needed.
  7. Monitoring weather and road conditions to make informed decisions about route planning and driving safety.
  8. Performing basic maintenance tasks and reporting any vehicle issues promptly.
  9. Managing time effectively to meet scheduled delivery deadlines.
  10. Adapting to changing schedules or route adjustments as required by the company.
  11. Maintaining all required certifications and licenses current and in good standing.
  12. Participating in ongoing safety training and professional development programs.

The driver must reside in the Yellowknife area; no fly-in options.

Qualifications
  • Class 1 license
  • LCV qualified an asset
  • 5 years of class 1 experience
  • Physically fit - able to lift 75 LBS, and push 200 LBS
  • Reliable and dependable
  • TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset
