What You'll Be Doing

As a Sr Manager, Quality Assurance, you'll join CIBC's Digital Technology - Quality Assurance department and be responsible for leading a team of QA professionals in delivering high-quality digital solutions. You will oversee the development and execution of comprehensive testing strategies, ensure compliance with industry standards, and drive continuous improvement across QA processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will champion best practices, mentor staff, and contribute to the successful delivery of innovative digital products that enhance the client experience and support CIBC's strategic objectives.

How You'll Succeed

  • Drive QA to QE Transformation - The role is responsible for leading the transformation from Quality Assurance (QA) to Quality Engineering (QE) by assessing current processes, developing a strategic roadmap, and promoting automation and shift-left practices. This includes enhancing test coverage, upskilling team members, and fostering collaboration across development and operations. The position drives adoption of modern testing tools, implements key quality metrics, and ensures continuous improvement while maintaining regulatory and security compliance, ultimately embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems to support resources with their deliverables. Establish a team that leverages Gen AI & Agentic AI - Lead the establishment of a high-performing team focused on leveraging Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies to enhance software testing processes. This role involves recruiting and developing talent, selecting appropriate AI tools, and designing innovative testing strategies that utilize advanced automation and intelligent agents. The objective is to drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement in testing practices by integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into the quality engineering function.
  • Delivery – Employ a results-oriented approach to ensure successful delivery; proactively manage risk and find solutions. Monitor milestones, and ensure they're completed according to timelines and budgets
  • Strategic Development & Execution – Define and manage resource requirements and allocations, monitor and improve quality, and ensure 'best practice' testing techniques. Make recommendations on the ongoing viability of a plan-based functionality, budget, and timelines.
  • Relationship Management – Work closely with technology and business partners to test production fixes.  Work closely with the Production Support team to ensure team is working on business priorities

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience of at least 2-3 years leadership experience within Quality Assurance of mobile apps- both Android and IOS. Development background is must. Experience leading onshore and offshore testing teams. Knowledge of Quality Assurance (Functional & Automation), and test tools such as HP ALM, UFT, SOA, Parasoft, JIRA, Selenium, and ConformIQ. It is an asset if you have Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies experience.
