Job Title:

Dock Associate

Location:

Guelph, ON

Shift:

Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4 pm

Pay:

Starting rate – $18/hr

Scope for the position:

  • Unload Incoming Products and loads outgoing shipments
  • Responsible for food safety within their scope of work

Basic function of the position:

  • Unload trucks and inspects goods/ trailer for any damages
  • Document damages and take pictures of damages.
  • Receive mail and distribute to respective department.
  • Load Transfer orders on the trailer when needed
  • Palletise orders for shipping
  • Manually wrapping of skids of various sizes for transportation, to ensure protection in transit
  • Loading trailers with various sizes and weights of customer order skids with pallet jack or electric walkie pallet jack
  • Complete required shipping paperwork
  • Communicate discrepancies with incoming PO's as required.
  • Some heavy lifting required, ability to lift 50lbs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unload trucks, inspect product or skids
  • Inspect goods for non-compliance "lot, expiry, damage "
  • Verify NHP's match vendor's lists or customs documents
  • Complete receiving reports
  • Keep Dock area clean and free of debris
  • Stock product in storage area
  • Load outbound customer orders on common carriers daily
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, certifications:

  • Grade 12 diploma (OSSD)
  • 1-2 years of previous experience in a similar environment is considered an asset
  • Material handling equipment experience is considered an asset.
  • Have the ability to multi-task in a fast and ever-changing environment
  • Able to bend, kneel, reach, stand and walk for entire shift
  • Able to lift to 50 LBS on a consistent basis
  • Excellent attention to detail
