You As a Crane Designer For Engineering Services
- Coordinate with site teams to anticipate and resolve issues related to the tower crane placement.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with the other members of your team.
- Maintain open and clear communication with your team and project site teams.
- Produce preliminary crane logistics drawings based on the available construction drawings; structural, architectural, civil, etc.
- Produce IFC drawings for crane selection, location, climb sequencing, and dismantle.
- Analyze and design crane pads, tie-backs, steel connections, concrete anchorage, and custom components both manually and with structural analysis/FEM software.
- Prepare IFC drawings for.
- Perform site visits/inspections as required.
Is this the right role for you?
- Minimum education requirements: Civil (preferred) or mechanical engineering degree/engineering technology diploma.
- Minimum industry experience: 2+ years in civil, structural, or mechanical design. Experience with mobile cranes, tower cranes, and derricks is preferred.
- Valid Ontario full G driver's license is strongly preferred.
- AutoCAD experience is required. Working knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam is an asset.
- Working knowledge of CSA Z248 and basic site safety regulations regarding crane erection/design is required. Working knowledge of CSA A23.3 and CSA S16 is strongly preferred.
- General knowledge of temporary structure design, rigging and lifting practices, and geotechnical fundamentals is an asset.
