Duties

  • Support the Denture Manager in overseeing daily clinic operations, ensuring efficient workflow and quality standards.
  • Assist with chairside procedures, including patient assessment, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for denture fittings.
  • Manage dental fabrication tasks such as impression taking, laboratory communication, and ensuring precise measurements using tools like micrometers.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and dental records within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
  • Apply infection control protocols rigorously, including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures, to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Utilize dental terminology and medical coding accurately for documentation and billing purposes within systems like Epic or similar platforms.
  • Support laboratory activities related to denture fabrication, including working with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and other dental fabrication tools.
  • Conduct patient assessments by evaluating medical history, anatomy knowledge, and medical imaging results to tailor treatment plans effectively.
  • Assist in pediatric cases by applying specialized techniques suitable for children's dental needs.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations related to infection control, HIPAA, and medical records management.

Experience

  • Proven experience in dental assisting with a focus on prosthodontics or denture services preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical imaging procedures, and laboratory processes involved in denture fabrication.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or comparable platforms for managing patient records efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with chairside assisting techniques including taking impressions, vital signs measurement, and patient assessment.
  • Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment.
  • Previous laboratory experience involving CAD design or other digital dentistry tools is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times.
