Overview

We are looking for experienced, mature, self starting, and reliable people who are passionate for and have experience working with animals to join our team as an Overnight Pet Sitter and Daily Pet Check-In/Dog Walk Provider.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well being of pets while the owners are away or while you are caring for them on daily check ins.
• Staying in the clients home overnight and providing walks, feeding, bathroom breaks, cleaning litter boxes or other enclosures and medication administration (if required)
• Keeping the clients home clean and tidy.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets behaviour, needs, and any concerns that may arise during walks or stays via our App.
• Ability to utilize our app, booking system and WhatsApp.
• Maintain a positive relationship with clients through excellent customer service via our app.
• Provide in-home pet sitting services in the communities of Duncan, Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake, Cowichan Bay, and Cobble Hill

Requirements

• Provide a clear criminal background check (at your expense)
• Possess a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
• Have a passion for animals and experience working with various types of pet and dogs of various breeds and behaviors. 'Loving dogs' is definitely part of the job, but we require meaningful hands on experience with dogs for this position.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
• Ability to work independently
• Available for pet sitting jobs on holidays, weekends, and weekdays
• It is an asset if you do not work longer than 6 hours during the day as some pets cannot be left alone for substantial periods of time. The maximum amount of time a pet can be left alone during the day is 8-9 hours (a typical work day).
• Experience with livestock (chickens, sheep, horses etc) is an asset but not a requirement
