Bodyshop Estimator

The Body Shop Estimator is a professional and experienced individual with management and estimating experience who is responsible for managing an efficient and profitable Body Shop that prioritizes customer satisfaction and retention. The main responsibilities include operating the shop at maximum production, building customer relationships, maintaining positive employee relationships, controlling costs, completing reports and meeting sales and profit objectives. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the estimator works closely with all areas of the business to ensure customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Set department sales objectives and submit annual forecast and monthly profitability reports, including Accounts Receivable and Payable follow up
- Organize department meetings and updates as needed
- Train, develop, and motivate the Body Shop team
- Manage and develop team through regular feedback and annual performance reviews
- Review and provide advancement opportunities
- Handle elevated customer issues or complaints until resolution
- Ability to write complete and detailed estimates related to collision damage. Closing off files and submitting to insurance companies in timely manner.
- Inspect work completed by Body Shop Technicians to ensure a high level of quality is maintained
- Identify and implement strategic opportunities for improvement in department processes and spending
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive work environment

Technical Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in a management role is required
- 3-5 years experience estimating collision repairs or working in a Body Shop
- Mathematically adept to provide accurate estimates
- Experience using electronic estimating software like Mitchell connect, Repair Centre, Audatex is an asset
- Valid Alberta driver's license required (comfortable operating manual transmission vehicles)
- Post-secondary training is an asset
- Commitment to continuous learning to update industry knowledge
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
