The Software Support Specialist would primarily work on maintaining current systems (both cloud and on premises), developing software-based solutions to and automating business processes, and providing general technical support to team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for hardware and software related issues across various platforms including both Windows and macOS
  • Assist with onboarding, access control, and compliance using admin portals.
  • Develop and maintain applications within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem
  • Collaborate with Director of Innovation and Technology on software projects related to automation development, system design and data modelling

Required Skills:

  • Real-world experience working in a support role, ideally technically focused
  • Ease with simple tasks like setting up a new computer, installing an operating system, rebooting a router, etc.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including (but not limited to):
  • Sharepoint
  • Dynamics 365
  • Office 365
  • Power Automate
  • Knowledge of essential programming concepts (conditional statements, loops, functions)
  • General proficiency with the grammar and language of technology
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent attention to detail, focus, and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and expand one's knowledge
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to take direction as well as work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with administration of and development for Microsoft 365 products (including managing licenses and security groups, writing Javascript, development of PowerApps)
  • Proficiency with no-code solutions like Power Automate
  • Intermediate skill in either Python or Javascript
  • Proficiency in shell-scripting
  • Familiarity with OCR technologies
  • Knowledge of data science techniques, experience working with large corpuses of text
  • Ability to research new technologies and integrate them into our workflow, when appropriate
  • Some interest in and/or experience with work involving historic artwork, or cultural collections
  • Fluency or working knowledge of various European languages would be an asset.

Compensation for the position is salary based and will be commensurate with the successful candidate's skill and experience level.
