Overview

NovaVR Therapy is a leading-edge mental health practice specializing in Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) and integrative therapeutic approaches that support individuals in overcoming anxiety, trauma, phobias, and other emotional challenges. We are currently seeking an empathetic, innovative, and client-focused Registered Therapist Social Workers or Counsellor to join our dynamic team.

As a clinician at NovaVR Counselling & Psychotherapy, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based psychotherapy services, while integrating the latest in Virtual Reality and immersive technologies into treatment planning and interventions. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy sessions, both in-person and virtually, using evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, MI, and VRET.
  • Utilize Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) as part of customized treatment plans for clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, phobias, and related disorders.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment goals, and track client progress using outcome-based measures.
  • Collaborate with clients to create trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered therapeutic approaches.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to community education, workshops, and innovative mental health programming related to VRET and emerging therapeutic technologies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training in VR-based interventions and integrative mental health therapies.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Registration and good standing with a recognized regulatory body (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO, CPO, CCPA).
  • Established client list as well as 3+ years of counselling & psychotherapy experience preferred*.
  • Experience in providing psychotherapy and counselling to diverse client populations.
  • Interest or experience in using Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (training will be provided if needed).
  • Commitment to anti-oppressive, anti-racist, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, clinical, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
