We're looking for a sound engineer to collaborate with Open Circle — an immersive music and community project that blends live storytelling, improvised songs, and connection through music.

You'll be responsible for capturing and shaping the sound of both live gatherings and studio sessions — helping bring warmth, clarity, and emotional depth to every recording.

What you'll do:

  • Record high-quality live sound during Open Circle events (vocals, instruments, ambient atmosphere).
  • Set up and manage microphones, interfaces, and recording gear for small venues or home sessions.
  • Assist in recording at our home studio
  • Edit, mix, and prepare recordings for video, social media, and future music releases.
  • Work closely with the creative team to preserve the authenticity and intimacy of the performances.

You are:

  • Experienced in sound recording, mixing, and live audio setups.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, spontaneous environments (improvised music, live gatherings).
  • Equipped with professional gear and/or able to work with existing home-studio setups.
  • Passionate about music as connection and about capturing emotion, not just sound.

Compensation:

Flexible — based on project or hourly rate, depending on experience and gear.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
