NURS 328 – Nursing Laboratory
Lab Facilitator – 1 SCH per group up to 4 group
Lab times: Mondays and Tuesdays; times vary
This course provides instruction and practice in the psychomotor and critical thinking skills necessary to provide safe and effective nursing care in the clinical environment. Through case-based scenarios, simulation, short assignments, quizzes, videos and hands-on practice, students engage with and apply new knowledge and skills that build on learning from Years 1 and 2 of the curriculum. Students must successfully complete 2 credit hours of NURS 328-(1, 2), either as two 1-credit hour courses or one 2-credit hour course (minimum 36 hours of structured laboratory practice), no more than eight months prior to undertaking the NURS 329-1 Year 3 Objective Structured Clinical Examination. This course is graded on a PASS/FAIL basis.
Candidates with a minimum BScN, MScN or PhD preferred, are encouraged to apply. Current registration as a Practicing RN with the BCCNM is required for all clinical positions and is preferred for all other positions. Teaching experience at the postsecondary level and/or evidence of instructional training is preferred. Related professional experience will be viewed favorably. Commitment to student-centred learning is considered important. There is possibility of remote teaching for some theory courses; please indicate a preference for remote teaching in your application, if applicable.

It includes a satellite campus in the coastal community of Prince Rupert.

SalaryThe salary for Part-Time Sessional Instructors is determined on the basis of Semester Contact Hour (SCH) at a rate of $3,046.03 per SCH. Please refer to the link below to the UNBC Faculty Association Collective Agreement for more compensation information:
