About the Opportunity

Our client, a leader in digital transformation within the financial services sector, is seeking a
skilled and motivated Embedded Software Developer to join a dynamic team working on advanced satellite ground segment software systems. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and productization of high-performance, scalable, and reliable software solutions. This is a fantastic contract opportunity to contribute to innovative projects within a cutting-edge technological environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of embedded software modules using C++ and Python for sophisticated satellite ground systems.
  • Systems Integration: Support the integration and testing of software components on Linux operating systems, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
  • Collaborative Engineering: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot defects, resolve technical issues, and contribute to code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Tooling & Efficiency: Contribute to the development of internal software tools, libraries, and frameworks to enhance product quality and team efficiency.
  • Networking & Cloud: Assist in implementing networking solutions and utilize cloud technologies to optimize software deployment and management.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for software designs, processes, and development tasks.

What You Bring (Qualifications & Experience)

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development with a focus on embedded systems.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
  • Proficiency working within a Linux environment.
  • A solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach to producing high-quality code.
  • The ability to design software with hardware resource constraints in mind.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (Bilingual is an asset).

Considered an Asset

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in the aerospace, satellite, or a similarly complex systems engineering domain.
