Production Administrator

Location:

Scope for the position:

  • Manages inventory, monitor production records and efficiencies, maintains training schedules and supports maintenance PM schedule and reports.
  • Responsible for food safety within their scope of work

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Executes daily cycle counts and investigates any inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory levels, including setting minimum and maximum stock levels, reordering parts, and conducting cycle counts to verify physical inventory.
  • Identify short-dated raw materials and report obsolete inventory

Record Keeping:

  • Reviews and records production run times and changeovers against targets
  • Manages opening and closing BPR's, ensuring inventory accuracy
  • Validate inventory movements attached to batches. Initiate deep dive into inventory inaccuracy and secure approvals before adjustments are carried out.
  • Identify areas for improvement in inventory processes and contribute to efficiency gains
  • Quick & effective communication along with a bias for action

Employee Training:

  • Maintains a training schedule
  • Track training records and schedule refresher trainings as necessary
  • Provide training to employees as needed

Maintenance Support:

  • Maintain detailed records of all parts and materials, including their locations, quantities, and usage, often using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Manages maintenance PM scheduling within CMMS
  • Supports updating Maintenance PM based on production and maintenance input

Other duties:

  • Comply with safety, GMP and SQF requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, certifications:

  • Highschool Diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industry
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a HACCP or food safety environment
  • 3-5 years of inventory management experience
  • 1-2 years of maintenance inventory management experience is an asset
  • Intermediate computer skills: Excel, Word, Oracle preferred
  • Strong communication skills and team leadership
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever-changing environment
  • PIT license or willingness to learn PIT (Powered Industrial Vehicle)
