Data Analytics Engineer / Data Visualization Engineer / Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

Toronto ON

Long term Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Data Engineer to integrate testing and automation solutions with data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and system performance optimization.
  2. Support the formalization of metric development processes, including creating metric dictionaries, dashboard dictionaries, and testing.
  3. Develop Tableau front end for metrics, dashboards and automated reports

Technical Skills

Required:

  1. Tableau Development: Expertise in designing interactive dashboards, visualizations, and automated reports using Tableau.

  2. Version Control: Proficiency with GitHub for collaborative code management, branching strategies, and pull requests.

  3. Programming Languages: Strong skills in C# .NET or equivalent languages (e.g., Python, Java) for backend development and scripting.

  4. API/Microservices Development: Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs or microservices in distributed systems.

  5. Containerization: Practical knowledge of Docker for containerizing applications and managing dependencies.

  6. Cloud Platform Deployment: Familiarity with OpenShift and other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying applications and managing containerized workloads.

  7. CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Hands-on experience with automating unit, regression, and functional testing within CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions). Focus on application build/test/deploy processes, not pipeline development.

Optional but Preferred:

  1. Event-Based Architecture: Exposure to event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka, AWS EventBridge) for real-time data processing.

  2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for provisioning and managing cloud resources.
