Role

MistyWest is hiring a 4–8 month Co-op Student for the Winter 2026 term (starting January) who has a strong research and development focus and is well-versed in a range of engineering skills, including mechatronics, electrical engineering and firmware development. This role will strongly focus on product development and require fast and adaptable hands-on learning.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of project managers and engineers to complete product development and research tasks in various industries and market segments.

MistyWest develops products in many innovative and unproven applications, so you must be obsessed with learning new skills and technology as well as highly comfortable with ambiguity and the unknown. You are used to working with diverse product development teams and are a great communicator. You thrive in collaborative environments and look forward to working in our beautiful office in Mount Pleasant for 5 days a week.

Requirements

  • 4th or 5th year undergrad  in Engineering or Physics
  • Preferred some previous coop work experience
  • Working knowledge of electrical design, or mechanical engineering or firmware development, and methods of applied mathematics and physics
  • Behavioural competencies - flexibility, adaptability, proactivity, motivation, aptitude for leadership
