PS Elite Support Services Inc.
Since 2014, PS Elite Support Services Inc. has provided respite and behaviour support services to children, youth, and families in the Niagara, Hamilton, Brant, Haldimand-Norfolk, and Halton Regions. We are dedicated to supporting children, youth, and families with complex and unique needs. We work collaboratively with community partners to equip clients and families with supports, skills, and strategies to help them achieve their goals.
We are looking for dedicated and skilled Behaviour Support Workers to support our clients in various settings. The Behaviour Support Worker is an important member of the interdisciplinary team and provides direct care and supervision to children and youth with diverse and complex mental health needs.
The Behaviour Support Worker offers support, education, and coaching to clients and families and implements therapeutic, recreational, and life skills programs based on the client's strengths and needs. Knowledge and skills include: crisis management, establishment of positive therapeutic relationships, utilization of developmentally appropriate approaches, and implementation and evaluation of various therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications
· Education: Completed College Diploma or University Degree in a social services related program including CYW /CYCP/ DSW/ SSW/ Behaviour Therapy/ Human Services and/or equivalent of 3 years experience working with children and youth with mental health and behavioural support needs.
· Demonstrated experience supporting children and youth with a wide range of mental health and behavioural challenges including developmental and cognitive disabilities, mental illness, dual diagnosis, addictions, aggressive behaviours, and self injurious behaviours.
· Demonstrated experience working with clients in their environment: live-in program settings, school/day programs, healthcare settings, family homes, transitional housing, and the community at large.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
· Ability to work flexible hours on a scheduled and an as-needed basis including days, evenings, and overnights.
· A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening and Police Records Check.
· Certification in crisis management including UMAB, PMAB, NVCI and/or CPI is preferred.
· Current Standard and/or Emergency First Aid and CPR certification.
· Must have a valid Ontario Driver's License, relevant insurance and use of a vehicle with a comfort in transporting clients.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.00 per hour
