Role Summary
Idea Theorem is seeking an
Application / Software Architect
to lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures across enterprise and public-sector digital initiatives. This role is responsible for translating business requirements into robust technical solutions and guiding delivery teams through implementation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum
10 years
of experience architecting software applications - Minimum
10 years
designing application architectures in an
enterprise-class environment (2,000+ users) - Minimum
10 years
monitoring and adapting architecture as projects evolve - Demonstrated experience defining system interfaces, data structures, and application sub-systems
- Strong experience designing enterprise or large-scale application architectures
- Expertise in object-oriented design, integration patterns, and API-based systems
- Experience with Java / Spring-based ecosystems and modern web architectures
- Ability to produce clear architectural documentation and diagrams
- Experience working in regulated or public-sector environments is an asset
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end application architectures, frameworks, and technical strategies
- Translate business and functional requirements into system architecture and data flows
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and integration approaches
- Define system interfaces across internal modules, external services, and legacy systems
- Ensure architectural alignment across frontend, backend, data, and infrastructure layers
- Establish and document system standards (coding, documentation, testing, naming conventions)
- Analyze existing systems and define modernization or enhancement strategies
- Monitor industry and government technology trends to ensure future-proof solutions
- Support technical design approvals and architecture governance processes
