Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager to join our retail team. In this pivotal role, you will support store operations, lead sales initiatives, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your energetic leadership will drive team performance, optimize inventory management, and uphold store standards. Duties

  • Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies
  • Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance management
  • Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
  • Handle customer inquiries with professionalism, providing solutions that foster loyalty and satisfaction
  • Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
  • Manage cashiering functions including cash handling, POS transactions, and balancing registers accurately
  • Coordinate shift schedules, monitor sales performance, and implement marketing initiatives to boost store traffic
  • Conduct employee orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with store procedures and standards
  • Assist in budgeting, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks to maintain financial accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organized store environment

Experience

  • Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within a retail or grocery store setting
  • Demonstrated success in sales management, team leadership, and customer service excellence
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math calculations
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for serving diverse customer bases
  • Familiarity with merchandising strategies, pricing techniques, and promotional campaigns
  • Excellent communication skills for training staff, negotiating vendor contracts, and engaging customers
  • Prior experience in recruiting, interviewing candidates, and employee development programs is preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll procedures, bookkeeping practices, and cash handling protocols
