About Our Opportunity:
Working within the mission, vision, values and person-centered philosophy of the Agency, the Assistant Manager supervises Directions Youth Safehouse program staff, including selection, performance management, discipline and dismissal. The role supervises case management: plans, develops, implements, and oversees client engagement strategies and the creation of individual service plans for youth. The Assistant Manager is also part of a 24/7 call rotation when required. With the support of the program management, the Assistant Manager plans, develops, implements, and oversees the ongoing day-to-day operation of the program. It actively supports the Agency's awareness and goals around diversity and inclusion.

Salary: Grade MGP2 Step 1 ($74,646.00-$82,738.50 annually)

What do you need to succeed?
Education, Training, Experience
- Bachelor's degree in social work, youth care, or related field
- Five (5) years' experience working with homeless and/or at risk youth, plus three (3) years managing and leading team members
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Awareness of community services, resources and systems and ability to work with these; competence in working with a multi-cultural community
- A committed ability to keep informed about evolving trends and practices, share knowledge, and support staff to integrate innovation into the delivery of quality care/services
- Strong ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and evaluate clinical programs considering client needs, service delivery interrelationships, and service potential within a complex environment
- Ability to understand available resources for program and keep quality in the forefront of all resource utilization decisions; providing feedback and detailed analysis on budget variances, and making recommendations for corrective action
- Ability to develop and maintain a strong and supportive team environment
- Thorough knowledge of adolescent development, at-risk youth and the child welfare system
- Thorough knowledge of harm reduction and trauma informed care practices
- Solid working knowledge of addictions and mental health
- Collaborative case management and strong advocacy skills
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
- Current First Aid, Food Safe Level 1, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates are an asset
