We are hiring a Grinding Associate at our Sofina plant in Belleville, ON.

Position Summary

The Grinding associate is responsible for transporting, processing, and weighing meat while ensuring quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Transport meat and other materials to designated production or storage area.
• Load meat into the appropriate machinery for processing.
• Use an air chisel to remove plastic from frozen meat.
• Operate grinding equipment to process meat, ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards.
• Weigh both raw and processed products accurately, maintaining precise records for production tracking and reporting.
• Conduct regular quality checks on ground products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and in compliance with sanitation requirements.
• Perform pre-operational checks to ensure the team is ready to begin meat processing.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure everything runs according to the plan.
• Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good English communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills for weighing and measuring products.
• Previous experience in food production or processing is a plus, particularly in injection processes.
• Ability to use checklists for documentation.
• Ability to identify and address issues that arise during production.
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Capability to assemble and disassemble machinery and operate production equipment.
