Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our team at Angus Place in Summerland. We provide 1 daily meal/365 days a year for 90 residents.The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing delicious dishes, ensuring food safety standards are met, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food handling, preparation, and safety standards is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques within the food industry.
