Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, equipment, plumbing, hydronic heating and chilled water. This position also requires a strong understanding of the construction tendering process. The Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes throughout all phases of construction or engineering projects. This includes directing multidisciplinary teams, liaising with clients and stakeholders, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and promoting quality and safety at every stage of the project. The Project Manager provides project leadership, technical oversight, and strategic guidance while proactively addressing risks, resolving conflicts, and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Oversee and coordinate all aspects of Mechanical background systems in projects from planning to close-out, including design review, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans specific to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work.

· Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and effective team communication.

· Conduct site inspections to verify that installations meet code, design intent, and safety standards, taking corrective action where necessary.

· Lead coordination meetings, including BIM/3D coordination where applicable, to resolve potential design or installation conflicts.

· Track project progress, prepare status reports, and communicate updates to leadership and clients.

· Manage subcontractors, consultants, and vendors for all Mechanical scopes of work, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.

· Oversee quality assurance and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

· Ensure proper commissioning, start-up, and turnover of all Mechanical systems, including documentation and client training.

· Liaise with utility providers and regulatory agencies for service connections and permitting.

· Support project close-out, including final testing, as-built documentation, and warranty work.

· Identify and resolve Mechanical-related issues and conflicts, implementing mitigation strategies promptly.

· Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional development and team accountability.

· Utilize project management software and tools for scheduling, reporting, budget management, and document control.

Education and Experience

· 5+ years' experience in Mechanical Project Management

· A proven track record in this field

· Strong network and knowledge of vendors and contractors in our market.

· Post secondary education
