Packaging Operator
Location:
Guelph, ON
Scope for the position:
Sets up, runs and adjusts packaging machines. Also responsible for sanitation
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reads job tickets to determine machine adjustments and material requirement; sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
- Run machine and monitor for defects or machine malfunction
- Inspects finish goods for any defects
- Performs basic trouble shooting and make adjustments as needed
- Assists coworkers to set up machine, and to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished product
- Comply with safety, GMP and SQF requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, certifications:
- Highschool Diploma
- 1-2 years of experience, working in the food industry considered an asset
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Effectively communicate in both written and verbal
- Ability to work through and problem solve issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50lbs safely
