Your Opportunity:
The successful applicant will provide neuropsychological services within a multidisciplinary team framework at a tertiary level rehabilitation hospital. Services will be provided within the Pediatric Rehabilitation Divisions. As such, the neuropsychologist can expect to work with a variety of patient populations, including but not limited to those with acquired brain injury, various neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and complex learning disorders. Duties will involve the provision of comprehensive neuropsychological assessment (interviews, obtaining information from collateral sources, selecting and interpreting neuropsychological measures, report-writing, feedback), often within the framework of a multidisciplinary team. Other responsibilities include consultation with family members, schools, and other service providers as well as the development of transition plans and provision of information about specialized community resources. Working with psychometrists and/or pre-doctoral residents is expected. Provision of consultation or education to community partners as well as participating in quality improvement programs and educational initiatives, conducting or facilitating research, and participating in hospital-wide groups or special projects may also be components of the position.

As a Psychologist II, you will provide advanced clinical services (including psychological assessment, diagnosis and/or intervention), consultation and education to the interprofessional team and patients/families, and/or provides clinical leadership and coordination in an assigned program area. This is an advanced level psychology position that will allow you to work with or within teams to provide and inform services for patients with complex and multi-dimensional medical, psychological, interpersonal, environmental and/or instrumental needs. You will consult, collaborate, and enact initiatives to ensure that practices are evidence based and in alignment with psychology standards of practice and code of ethics, as well as policy, legislation and regulations. You will be expected to lead, facilitate and/or participate in program, policy, and procedure development, service planning, staff development, quality improvement and evaluation, and/or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s). You may provide supervision to doctoral level psychology residents, master's level interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of doctoral degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) or American Psychological Association (APA) program. . A combination of equivalent education and experience may also be considered. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Applications from Provisional Psychologists may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology/Neuropsychology from an accredited university program with specialized doctoral or post-doctoral training in neuropsychology is required. Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists is required, and supervision may be arranged for a qualified individual with provisional registration. Advanced knowledge and skills in neuropsychology are mandatory for accurate differential diagnoses. Experience conducting neuropsychological assessment with a variety of school-aged children and adolescents and strong written and oral communication skills are also required. The ability to relate to patients, family members, and other service providers (including multidisciplinary team members) in a collaborative and professional manner is essential.
