Position: 1913 Host/ Hostess

Reports To: Bar Manager

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Bar Manager, the 1913 Cocktail Server plays a vital role in helping deliver an unforgettable dining experience that embodies the unique experience, character and service of 1913 Speakeasy, while positively contributing to embodying the Hard Rock culture.

Hours of Work:

This is an hourly position, with work hours that align with business needs and guest demand. This will be predominantly PM shifts.

1913 Host/ Hostess – Job Description

Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):

• Welcome guests as they arrive at the 1913
• Following the steps of service, consistently, for welcoming a guest to 1913, as well as different interactions with guests (ie. phone calls, seating a guest, saying farewell to a guest etc.)
• Consistently offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service
• Understand the server's tasks in the outlet
• Answer phone calls and make/edit/cancel reservations
• Full understanding of our reservation system (OpenTable)
• Assist guests regarding food and beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Have knowledge of menu items and be able to confidently answer any questions guests may have
• Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
• Smart Serve certified
• Food Handlers certificate
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
