Property Accountant

Downtown Toronto, ON – Hybrid (4 days in-office)

$80,000–$90,000 base + bonus, RRSP plan & excellent benefits

Our client is a
well-established commercial real estate company
recognized for its strong tenant relationships and high-quality asset management. With a portfolio of professionally managed office properties across the GTA, they're looking for a
Senior Property Accountant
to join their growing finance team.

This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys
full-cycle property accounting
, working directly with property managers, and contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle
    full-cycle accounting
    for a portfolio of commercial office properties.
  • Prepare
    monthly financial statements
    , balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Complete
    CAM and realty tax reconciliations
    , including final adjustments and billings.
  • Assist with
    annual budgets
    , capital expenditure tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare
    year-end working papers
    and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Monitor
    cash flow, HST filings
    , and daily banking activities.
  • Partner closely with property managers and respond to tenant or ownership inquiries.
  • Identify and support
    process improvements
    to strengthen controls and efficiency.

What You'll Bring

  • 3–5+ years of
    commercial property accounting
    experience.
  • Strong knowledge of
    CAM and property tax recoveries
    .
  • Yardi
    proficiency and solid
    Excel
    skills.
  • CPA designation (or working toward completion).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable within a fast-paced environment.
