Job description

Kemptville Psychology & Counselling offers clinical assessment and intervention to children and youth experiencing learning problems, attention difficulties, anxiety and sleep issues. We are currently looking for a psychometrist to conduct standardized psychometric tests in individuals from 6 to 21 years of age during psychoeducational assessments.

We are presently seeking a conscientious and professional individual with flexible schedules who are available mornings and afternoons, 20-30 hours a week. Remuneration is between $45 to $50/hr. The length of the contract is a year (covering a parental leave) with potential for partial extension or on-call work subsequently.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Works under the clinical supervision of the psychologist to provide assessment services, including: file review; administration of various standardized psychological tests; recording of responses; scoring of tests using appropriate norms; and contributing to report writing.
  • Provides a written summary of the patient's behaviour during testing
  • Ensures timeliness, accuracy, availability and security of information
  • Maintains accurate records within the practice management software
  • Adheres to procedures and standards outlined by Kemptville Psychology & Counselling and the College of Psychologists of Ontario
  • Participates in routine health and sanitation measures to ensure patient safety

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in the social sciences essential; graduate training or a post-graduate diploma an asset
  • Demonstrated ability in making academic interventions and assessments engaging and fun
  • Conscientious, cautious and attention to detail essential
  • Experience working with children with learning challenges essential
  • Excellent written and communication skills essential
  • Ability to work within specific deadlines essential
  • Experience administering and scoring psychological and psychoeducational tests an asset
  • Experience providing the supervising psychologists with written and/or verbal summary of test results and the client's performance and behaviour in diagnosis and treatment recommendations an asset
  • Experience receiving clinical supervision an asset
  • Facility with Google Suite and practice-management software an asset
