Experienced Overhead Crane Operator

Pay rate: $21.90/hr to start

Shift Premium: $1.00/hr

OVERTIME PAY

• Overtime 1.5 x x paid after 38.33 hours
• Double time 2.0 x paid after 46 hours

Positions within the Stamping Production department FIO's skill based pay program. The skill based pay program rewards team members that have acquired certain skills within their job and a premium percentage is then added to their hourly rate of pay.

Crane Operator

Level 1 - Certified to run an overhead Crane and performing the role on a full time basis = 2.5% premium on base rate of pay

Starting rate - $21.90 (base rate) + 2.5% = $22.45

Level 2 – An additional 2.5% increase on the base rate of pay will be given once the job tasks have been performed for a minimum of 12 months.

Job Description:

Major Responsibilities:

• All responsibilities as Team Member including appropriate uniform and use of PPE.
• Perform start-up checks on crane/attachments, record results and report abnormalities.
• Read production schedule to plan tasks using crane and take precautions to reduce risk.
• Follow Standardized Work to operate cranes:
• lift and move dies into stamping presses for changeovers.
• lift and move steel coils from flatbed trucks to storage fields or die cart.
• lift and move coils on blanking machines and carts and stands.
• Set and remove fingers tooling on to die sets using hand tools.
• Scan and receive coil and report weights for entry into database and submission to PC.
• Maintain workplace safety and organization in die and coil storage areas.
• Complete "5S" tasks and TPM duties as required.
• Report unsafe conditions and safety incidents including near misses involving other people.
• Monitor/shadow trainee's crane activity to halt unsafe or incorrect activity.
• Write/report results and concerns and kaizen suggestions at shift end meetings.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the EPRP (Emergency Preparedness Response Plan).
• Demonstrate an understanding of FIO's Environmental Policy and participate in programs.
• Report concerns and makes suggestions for continual improvement "kaizen."
• Work flexible work schedules include early start and stay late, or weekends as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Read and write numbers and phrases on paper as well as input data into tablet.
• Physically capable of stacking, sorting, and repacking parts up to 12kg as per PQC and PKG.
• Good eyesight: short- and long-range vision. (eyeglasses acceptable)
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Perform four stamping roles including inspector.
• Post Requisite: Pass 3rd Party Crane Operation Theory and Practical training.
• Pass Fundamental Skills for crane operation and GL audit.
