Underwriting Assistant,
and work out of our
Calgary, Toronto, Oakville, Aurora, Markham, or Hamilton
office on a
Permanent (FT) Basis
.

What the Role Entails:

• Issue, endorse, renew, or cancels policies following underwriting policies/procedures, applicable laws, and regulations subject to personal authority level.
• Retrieve information relevant to the underwriting function either by pulling files or checking policy history through appropriate channels.
• Work within established authority limits, structured parameters, rating matrices, and defined guidelines within the Underwriting Authority given under the various Lloyd's Contracts.
• Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously.
• Other tasks related to supporting our underwriting functions

The Successful candidate will have:

• Post Secondary Education
• Excellent data entry and typing skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail with the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Thrive working in a virtual Team using shared electronic mailboxes and files
• Highly organized to manage workload proficiently and can work in a face paced and changing environment
• Analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
• Positive team player while working independently
• High degree of professionalism and accountability
• Willing to obtain insurance license
• Excellent Knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
