About The Role
The prime objective of the Quality Expert is to provide product and quality assistance to Canada and Pacific Northwest US cement manufacturing sites so as to make Amrize's cement the product of choice in the marketplace. This encompasses supporting operations in: optimizing the quality and consistency of their products at every step of the manufacturing process, ensuring processes are in place to minimize risks and litigation and assuring the reliability of lab equipment and measurements. This position will also facilitate the execution and promotion of the quality related strategic initiatives from Group level.
What You'll Accomplish
- Drive H&S performance, including exemplary housekeeping, robust adherence to standards and ensuring a strong positive H&S culture.
- Drive performance through optimizing quality and uniformity at every step of the manufacturing process, including assessing new ARM, reviewing raw mix designs, and optimizing clinker.
- Review plant product performance, support sites with improvement actions, and provide Quality performance benchmarks at the Country level.
- Work closely with plant and sales to establish market competitive performance targets for each product and collaborate in defining improvement actions when needed.
- Drive implementation and ensure proper usage of Cement Industrial Framework (CIF) tools, systems and methods for Quality, supporting rollout and training of the site workforce.
- Define and maintain a global strategy on analytical equipment for cement plant labs, including fleet renewal schedules and vendor negotiations.
- Actively contribute to, and drive for, the competency development of Quality and plant lab population at site level, acting as a lead facilitator for Product & Quality trainings.
- Provide experience back to Corporate Technical Support to enrich know-how and share best practices in the areas of quality.

What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: 10 years of plant experience in a Cement quality related field.
- Experience in other operational areas: Production, quarry, RMX.
- ISO and TIS/LIMS knowledge.
- Bilingualism (French and English) a preference.
- Strong computer skills including the use of MS office/google suite applications, etc.
- Good knowledge of statistical methods, their application and use in control of cement quality.
Additional Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Cement Chemistry and its impact on Product Quality and Applications
- Advanced knowledge of raw material, fuel and process impact on product properties (raw mix optimization, clinker reactivity & uniformity)
- Expertise in Quality Control techniques and Analytical methods, with excellent knowledge of chemical and physical testing performed in cement industry
- Solid knowledge of Quality management system, Regional Standards and Specifications.
- Strong leadership and capability to interact with influence, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Capable of delivering effective training to all personnel.
- Valid driver's license in Canada and ability to travel 50%.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
