Key purpose of the role

The role is responsible to support customizations to ASX Market Announcement Platform and Reference data Management system built of the Golden source vendor product along with creating non-functional utilities, ensuring a high level of system availability, implementing and improving system monitoring and alerting, fault diagnosis and resolution.

Your responsibilities

  • Assess Requirements and Technical documents to perform the build work required for customisations.
  • Undertake the day-to-day operations of the platforms, including incident management, problem identification, prioritisation and issue management for the various production, test and development environments. This includes occasional weekend change and release deployments.
  • Engage with project teams as well as internal and external stakeholders in the delivery, automation and maintainability without compromising the integrity or reliability of the system.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis of the various systems. Make necessary changes to the environment to improve the overall efficiency and ongoing support.
  • Be part of a cross-functional team planning, configuring, unit testing and documenting new and existing system features to deliver working end-to-end solutions and thus adding value to stakeholders.
  • Uphold solution integrity by ensuring that work is compatible with agreed system architectures, adheres to corporate security standards, upholds quality maintaining any external commitments.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of software release through various environments. Ensure Change Control process is closely adhered to, including appropriate risk assessments & mitigation actions, communications to the relevant business, technology, participants and vendor stakeholders.
  • Understand and analyse the interdependencies within complex systems, design and troubleshoot more effectively anticipating how changes in one part of the system might impact other dependencies.

Your experience and qualifications

Must have

  • Proven track record of engineering with Java, spring boot, bash, python including a strong understanding of best practices and design patterns.
  • Experience with RDBMS using SQL.
  • Exposure to AWS Analytics (Athena, Data zone, Glue)
  • Event management, alerting and monitoring (ELK, Grafana)
  • Familiarity in integration technologies including API, Realtime messaging and streaming architectures like Kafka.
  • Familiarity as a user with incident, problem and change management tools (ServiceNow)
  • Familiar with TCP/IP stack and Internet protocols like https.
  • Non-functional testing and planning experience.
  • Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (GITLAB, Nexus, SonarQube)

Nice to have

  • Experience working in Capital Markets Industry with a solid understanding of product and transaction lifecycles.
  • Passionate about solving problems, troubleshooting software issues and triaging environment issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lateral thinker – bring forward ideas that will automate repeatable tasks to reduce work effort and ensure quality deliverables
