Edmonton, Alberta, Canada JA Northern Alberta (JANorthAB) Full time

Inspire. Empower. Connect.

At Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta (JA), we believe in the boundless potential of young people. Every day, we help students discover what's possible through hands-on learning in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship.

As part of a global network reaching over 12 million students each year, JA Northern Alberta delivers programs that ignite curiosity, confidence, and capability in the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders.

Now, we're looking for an energetic, relationship-focused professional to help bring JA's elementary school programs to life — inspiring thousands of young learners across Alberta to dream big about their futures.

About the Role

As Elementary School Program Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in empowering elementary students (grades 3–6) through interactive classroom programs that spark an early love of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness.

You'll collaborate with educators, recruit and support volunteers, and ensure that every JA experience in the classroom is fun, impactful, and aligned with JA's mission.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on connection, someone who loves being in classrooms, building relationships with teachers, and helping volunteers deliver transformative learning experiences for young students.

What You'll Do

Coordinate and Deliver JA Elementary Programs

  • Lead delivery of JA's elementary programs across Northern Alberta.
  • Facilitate hands-on learning experiences for students, both directly and through volunteer support.
  • Adapt program delivery to suit diverse classroom environments and student needs.
  • Manage program scheduling, logistics, and resources to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Inspire curiosity and participation in every classroom you visit.

Support and Engage Volunteers

  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor volunteers from the business and education communities.
  • Provide training, tools, and ongoing support to help volunteers deliver high-quality classroom experiences.
  • Foster positive relationships with volunteers through communication, recognition, and community engagement.

Build School and Community Partnerships

  • Cultivate strong relationships with teachers, school administrators, and community partners.
  • Represent JA at school and community events, building awareness of JA's mission.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand JA's reach across Northern Alberta.

Track Impact and Support Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, outcomes, and feedback.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Support program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You're passionate about education and youth empowerment. You light up when you're in a classroom and thrive when helping others learn and grow. You're equally comfortable juggling logistics behind the scenes and building connections in the community.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 2+ years of experience in education, youth programming, or community engagement.
  • Are a confident communicator who can inspire both students and adults.
  • Bring strong organizational and time management skills to balance multiple priorities.
  • Are tech-savvy and comfortable using Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, and databases (Salesforce experience is an asset).
  • Have reliable transportation to travel within the Greater Edmonton Area.

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Make a Difference: Every classroom you support builds brighter futures for Alberta's next generation.
  • Expand Your Network: Work alongside educators, business professionals, and volunteers who share your passion for community impact.
  • Grow Professionally: Access professional development opportunities and mentorship from JA's experienced team.
  • Enjoy Flexibility: A blend of office, school, and community work — no two days are ever the same.
  • Competitive Benefits: Health Spending Account & Life Insurance, RRSP Matching, Paid December Break & Compressed 35-hour Work Week, Professional Development Budget

Base Salary: $45,000-$50,000 per year, depending on experience.

There is seasonal variation of hours and workload related to program delivery requirements. Working evenings and some weekends will be required.
