Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Trainer to support our Toyota University team. We are looking for an individual with strong communication skills and enjoys training other people. This is a full-time opportunity and will report to the Manager of Technical Curriculum and Training.
The selected candidate will deliver technical training to Dealer technicians and TCI internal technical staff, and ensure the optimal level of service repair and maintenance for Toyota and Lexus vehicles across Canada.

What You'll be Doing:
- Ensure full competence and self-confidence to deliver all TU technical courses (via self-study and co-facilitation)
- Coordinate with the Technical Curriculum & Training Manager and Consultant, Technical Training Team Lead to ensure that an up-to-date calendar of training is published and maintained for course enrolment by Dealers
- Prepare the necessary materials & equipment for effective course delivery and student participation. (e.g. course set-up)
- Provide ongoing maintenance to standardized training fleet and maintain vehicle specific service records
- Deliver courses including confirmation of attendance, assessment tests/quizzes, and interactive response to ensure the highest degree of content integrity and learning by the students
- Maintain an active collaboration with the Consultant, Technical Curriculum in relation to course content and recommendations to 'kaizen'
- Actively participate in 'team meetings' to review and develop course materials and content to further advance the technical education/ability of Toyota and Lexus technicians
- Support the maintenance of SOPs as determined by Manager
- Maintain zone training centres to TSM level
- Maintain active involvement and understanding of new and changing automotive technology both in Toyota, Lexus and competitors
- Work with Manager, technical consultant and training to coordinate budget
- Assist the curriculum technical course developer whenever required during course development
What You'll Bring:
- Class A, Licensed Automotive Technician – Red Seal preferred
- 5-10 years of work experience as auto technician or equivalent experience
- Shop Foreman or Lead Hand experience
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent command of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
- Excellent oral communications skills
- Education in the principles of adult learning
- Bilingual in French and English considered an asset
