Position Overview

As a Journeyman Electrician, you'll take the lead on residential and commercial electrical work, including installations, service, and maintenance. You'll work independently and alongside other trades, ensure jobs are completed safely and to code, and help uphold Primera's standards for clean, professional workmanship. You'll also support apprentices by sharing knowledge, setting a good example, and helping the team succeed together.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and service work on residential and commercial sites
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and scopes of work
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and provide practical, code-compliant solutions
  • Ensure all work meets CSA standards, local codes, and company quality expectations
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
  • Follow and enforce health and safety policies and procedures
  • Lead by example and support apprentices and teammates on site
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and clients
  • Complete service reports, documentation, and required digital records
  • Represent Primera professionally on every job site

Skills & Requirements

  • Certified Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal preferred)
  • Strong residential and or commercial electrical experience
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead work on site
  • Comfortable guiding and mentoring apprentices
  • Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
  • Clear, respectful communication style
  • Comfortable using digital tools for reporting and communication
  • Takes pride in doing clean, safe, high-quality electrical work

Education & Experience

  • Certification: Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal an asset)
  • Experience: Residential and or commercial electrical experience required
  • Technology: Comfortable using digital tools for scheduling, communication, and reporting

Position Details

  • Pay: $40.00 per hour
  • Hours: 40 per week with occasional overtime
