Lower School French Teacher

(Permanent)

As a dynamic, engaging and certified teacher with exceptional relationship-building, communication and teaching skills, you have a passion for teaching boys. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and assess the core curriculum for French using creative teaching strategies and differentiated instruction;
  • Employ innovation and technology in teaching reading, writing and communication skills;
  • Create engaging lessons by implementing active, experiential and relational pedagogy;
  • Utilize a variety of strategies to build professionally strong and effective relationships with students;
  • Employ effective classroom management practices to establish an effective teaching and learning environment;
  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and caring classroom that supports social-emotional learning and self-regulation, both crucial for early academic development;
  • Communicate effectively with parents and teachers;
  • Differentiate instructional strategies in collaboration with the Learning Support Specialist;
  • Coach and participate in a CiA co-curricular activity for at least two terms;
  • Integrate the School's mission throughout all curricular and co-curricular activities, including the development of character-infused lessons;
  • Participate in supervision, duty and evening and weekend events as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A B.Ed and membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Primary/Junior in French as a second language
  • At least twoyears' experience teaching Primary/Junior French
  • Superior and demonstrated relationship-building and relational teaching skills
  • Passion, creativity, and commitment to the role, team and School mission
  • Proven leadership in implementing an integrated French curriculum
  • Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence, mentoring, and boy-centric teaching philosophies
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong desire to contribute to the co-curricular program
  • Growth mindset, curiosity and willingness to accept new perspectives
  • Compassion and a desire to cultivate courage and nurture connection
