Engineer, Test and Trials

Join our dynamic Test & Trials Team and play a critical role in delivering one of the most advanced naval programs in the world. As a Test and Trials Engineer, you'll help shape the future of naval capability by supporting the planning and execution of the Test & Trials Program for the River Class Destroyer. Your work will directly contribute to achieving Product Acceptance and contractual sell-off milestones.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence key deliverables, and ensure seamless integration of complex systems.
Responsibilities- Support the development of key program documents, including:
- Master Integration, Test and Evaluation Schedule (MITES)
- Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
- Integrated Test and Trials Plan (ITTP)
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align schedules and plans.
- Interface with the Planning Department to ensure MITES integrates with the Integrated Master Schedule.
- Liaise with Engineering Delivery Teams to support the CSC Test & Trials Program.
- Assist Senior Leadership with related deliverables and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the Test & Trials Program.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks within your scope and across the program.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma, Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- 4–10 years in shipbuilding or the defence industry.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) or working toward one.
- Knowledge of new-build naval ship projects, including integration of Platform Systems, Combat Systems, and commissioning processes.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
