Concord Projects is seeking a Red Seal Carpenter to work on our commercial construction project sites to complete rough carpentry tasks, assist the Construction Supervisor in maintaining the company's quality standards and supervise apprentice Carpenters.

Our ideal person has the following knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Safety focused and cares about creating a safe job site.
  • Detail-oriented and constantly thinking about the best way to do the work.
  • Able to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Red Seal or Journeyperson status
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required.

The Job

The Carpenter works closely with the Construction Supervisor to build or repair structures and components on our project sites in the Winnipeg areas. Some of the typical tasks of the job include:

  • Read and interpret shop drawings, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
  • Prepare layouts that comply with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • Build and install backings, roof parapets, safety railings, stick frame hoarding, and small concrete forms.
  • Fit and install finishing items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware.

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $36.95 to $39.00 hour based on experience.

Additional compensation items include monthly cell phone allowance, cost-shared health and dental, pension with employer match, boot program and wellness spending account among other great employee benefits.
