The WSIB Analyst is responsible to report work related injuries to the WSIB, claims management/documentation and manage works' compensation cases in a cost effective manner.  Responsibilities also includes calculations, analyzing and distribution of measurement metrics.  As required the Analyst provides guidance and advice to the organization on WSIB matters and is responsible for program design and improvements.

The Ability and Attendance team within Health, Safety and Wellness at Hamilton Health Sciences is accountable for the disability management, accommodation, return to work and attendance management processes through an effective incident capture, triage and response process and for providing the supports necessary to enable reasonable and regular attendance at work by all staff.

1. Degree in related field 
2. WSIB Claims Management Certificate through Community College/University 
3. Comprehensive understanding of WSIAT 
4. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred 
5. Proven track record in contesting entitlement where appropriate - ability to use research and analytical skills to analyze evidences, relevant case law, medical documentation to determine validity of a case or claim 
6. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology and treatment modalities for compensable illness/injuries in conjunction with WSIB case law 
7. Proven track record in reducing WSIB claims and associated NEER costs 
8. Excellent communication skills 
9. Ability to build strong professional relationships with stakeholders and the team 
10. 5 years + WSIB experience including adjudication, claims management, appeals, tribunals 
11. Extensive knowledge and experience in medical and return to work case management in a healthcare setting 
12. Understanding of multiple Collective Agreements 
13. Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and outlook 
14. Advanced skills in data analysis and metrics related to dashboards/scorecards 
15. Focused analyst driven to identify, implement and evaluate WSIB claims management systems and processes to deliver tangible results. 
16. Highly motivated individual who is a team player and who brings extensive knowledge and experience to the Abilities Team in advancing WSIB claims management practices.
