We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. This role is vital in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Lead and supervise store staff to ensure high levels of customer service and operational efficiency
  • Manage merchandising efforts, including pricing strategies, product placement, and inventory control
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience
  • Conduct recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Oversee payroll processing, cash handling, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks
  • Develop sales strategies through marketing initiatives and promotional activities
  • Monitor sales performance and implement action plans to meet or exceed targets
  • Maintain store appearance, ensure compliance with safety standards, and manage store cleanliness
  • Utilize POS systems effectively for transactions and inventory management
  • Assist with purchasing decisions and vendor relations to optimize product offerings

Requirements

  • Proven supervisory or team management experience in retail or related fields
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
  • Proficiency in merchandising, pricing, sales management, and POS systems
  • Experience with recruiting, training & development, budgeting, and marketing strategies
  • Skilled in cash handling, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer service issues professionally and efficiently
  • Knowledge of retail sales techniques, store management practices, and sales management principles
  • Strong negotiation skills with vendors or suppliers preferred
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.40 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
