Tutor Doctor Richmond Hill provides personalized, one-to-one tutoring that supports students academically and builds confidence. Tutors are thoughtfully matched with families, and sessions take place either virtually or in the student's home.

We support students across multiple subjects, learning styles, and academic needs — from foundational skills to advanced high school coursework.

Role Overview

We are seeking reliable, enthusiastic tutors who can teach one or more academic subjects, including Math, English, Reading, Writing, Science, and other school-based subjects. This role is ideal for tutors who enjoy working one-on-one with students and adapting their teaching approach to meet individual needs.

Subjects May Include (Based on Tutor Strengths)

  • Mathematics (Elementary to High School)
  • English Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Speaking)
  • Science (Elementary to High School)
  • Homework support & study skills
  • Literacy and academic confidence building

(Tutors are only matched with subjects they are comfortable teaching.)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized 1:1 tutoring sessions
  • Support students with subject content, homework, and assignments
  • Adapt lesson plans to suit each student's learning style
  • Build student confidence, organization, and independent learning skills
  • Provide brief session feedback to families or the Tutor Doctor office
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and consistency

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge in at least one academic subject
  • Experience tutoring or teaching children and/or teens
  • Comfortable tutoring either virtually or in-home in Richmond Hill
  • Reliable transportation for in-home sessions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must pass a background check

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Teaching degree, university-level education, or subject specialization
  • Experience with Ontario curriculum
  • ESL, special education, or learning support experience

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal, Freelance, Internship / Co-op

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 8 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Richmond Hill, ON L4E 4K1
