Integration & Automation Developer III
As a member of the Service Enablement Team, you will design, develop, and maintain integration and automation services that support internal collaboration and operational efficiency at Safe Software. You will take ownership of critical systems, including integrations between help desk software and issue tracking systems, Customer Success Management (CSM) platforms and product discovery tools, and automation pipelines that transform internal work items and metadata into externally published documentation and customer-facing content.

You will also contribute to AI-driven automation initiatives, such as an AI-assisted triage system for work items, which helps automate classification and routing decisions and improves cross-team visibility.

This is a hands-on integration and automation role for someone who enjoys working with APIs, event-driven workflows, and service pipelines across modern cloud and SaaS platforms.

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. Even if you don't meet every listed qualification, we encourage you to apply. We value curiosity, problem-solving, and a willingness to learn.

About The Team
The Service Enablement Team (SET) is part of the Information Services department. We integrate data, tools, and processes to drive innovation, collaboration, and efficiency. Our systems connect departments and automate routine workflows, enabling Safe Software to scale effectively.

Our projects support nearly every part of the organization, from Customer Success to Product Development. We are a remote-first team distributed across Canada, and we value clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing
As an Integration & Automation Developer III, you will:

  • Develop and maintain cross-platform integrations between systems such as Jira, Zendesk, Gainsight, and other SaaS platforms.
  • Support and enhance key automation pipelines that transform internal metadata into customer-facing content.
  • Contribute to AI-driven automation initiatives, including intelligent triage, enrichment, and routing of Jira work items using LLM-based systems.
  • Modernize legacy systems by refactoring code, improving observability, and transitioning fragile processes into robust, automated services.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot integration pipelines, ensuring system reliability and proactively resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

Qualifications, Skills, And Competencies
At Safe Software, we welcome diverse backgrounds and experiences. While not all candidates will have everything listed, the most successful candidates will bring many of the following:

What We're Looking For

  • Experience building integration services, automation scripts, or system workflows using or Python.
  • Strong experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations between cloud-based systems.
  • Experience deploying and operating automation or integration services in cloud environments, such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, or similar serverless or container-based platforms.
  • Experience integrating LLM-based services (e.g., the OpenAI API or similar) into automation workflows for decision-making and enrichment, applied to tasks like classification, enrichment, summarization, or routing within automated workflows.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools, such as Git, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production automation systems, including logging, alerting, and observability.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Typically 3–5 years of experience in integration, automation, or systems-focused development roles.

Nice To Have

  • Experience integrating with SaaS APIs such as Jira, Zendesk, Gainsight, or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with Postman for API testing and debugging.
