Mold Closer

Puhakka Metalcasting Company is a custom aluminum foundry in Cambridge, Ontario. At our facility, we produce high-quality, high-integrity castings for various market sectors, including petrochemical, nuclear, LNG, and military. We are currently looking for hard-working, innovative individuals to join our team.

The Molding & Closing Department is responsible for making and preparing sand molds. This department is divided into three molding stations according to the weight and height of the molds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Place mold components in line using crane.
• Prepare molds' surface - sanding, painting, and cleaning internal and external areas.
• Prepare molds for pouring procedure.
• Read and interpret work procedures to properly prepare molds.
• Prepare cores (painting, stripping, and heating procedures).
• Confirm the status cards and mold quality checklist are being completed throughout the mold-making process.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

Requirements:

• Foundry experience would be an asset.
• Painting experience would be an asset.
• Forklift license and crane operation would be an asset.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must have strong attention to detail, work ethic, and a team player.
• Be able to perform the physical requirements of this position, which may include bending, reaching, twisting, lifting, standing, repetitive motion and other job-specific requirements.

Hours & Pay:

• Mon-Fri: 5am-1:30pm (40 hours/week).
• Starting hourly rate: $30 per hour.
