Overview:

Baydo is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic design and construction team. The ideal candidate will support architectural projects utilizing advanced drafting, modeling, and project management skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative building designs while developing professional expertise in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed architectural drawings, schematics, and blueprints using AutoCAD 2024, Revit, and Civil 3D
  • Create 3D models and visualizations using SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Prepare construction documents for residential projects, ensuring compliance with BC building codes and standards
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to translate project requirements into accurate technical drawings
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously using Microsoft Project and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for scheduling and communication
  • Review schematics, blueprints, and construction details to facilitate smooth project execution
  • Assist with project management tasks including timeline tracking, resource allocation, and progress reporting
  • Analyze design options to optimize functionality, aesthetics, and constructability
  • Maintain organized digital files and documentation throughout project phases
  • Conduct regular reviews of drawings and models to ensure adherence to quality standards

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in architectural drafting, design, or a related field
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation; experience with Civil 3D is an asset
  • Strong drafting skills and knowledge of blueprint reading, construction details, and schematics
  • Experience with residential and commercial construction projects preferred
  • Familiarity with LEED standards and the British Columbia Building Code (BCBC)
  • Experience with Tenant Improvement (TI) projects is advantageous
  • Knowledge of wood, steel, and concrete construction systems
  • Familiarity with Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) application processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills and professional approach in all interactions
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to manage timelines and shifting priorities
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities related to construction design and execution
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools
