What You'll Do

We are currently looking to add a Client Intake Lawyerwho has experience in the area of Personal Injury (Employment being a plus) to our team. The primary goal of this position is to execute our On-Demand Consults. Additionally, this individual will be the first line of contact when potential clients call into the firm needing legal guidance. The successful candidate will also work with our Managing Lawyer to find new ways to support our clients and our team.

You Will

• Provide excellent client care including regular contact by telephone, email, and in person

• Determine suitability of claims and if Litco is best equipped to represent the client(s)

• Work with clients to refer work that is out of scope for the firm, or otherwise not suitable
• Provide guidance and direction to non-legal team members who are in need of legal opinions on client matters
• Work with the Client Solutions team on duties related to client intake and setting up consultation meetings

• Answer initial calls from prospective clients and establish trust and confidence in our company's services

• Update all prospects' information into the firm's systems - properly record all data pertaining to each client

• Develop a complete understanding of the life of a client file and its various phases
• Understand and remain up to date on Rules of Court, industry related materials, and relevant changes
• Complete liability investigations as necessary
• Perform notary functions

• Pride yourself on exceptional time management skills, and a high level of professionalism and discretion

• Have proven leadership skills in a fast-paced, high volume work environment

• Have a J.D. or LL.B from a recognized Canadian or International institution
• Have 1-5 years applicable legal experience
• Are an active member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta
